What is AFCAT?
Air Force Common Admission Test popularly known as AFCAT is conducted by Indian Air Force that announces recruitment for men & women who are adventurous and want to join Indian Air Force. They invite eligible candidates to be posted in various branches of I.A.F as commissioned officers in flying department, technical branch and ground duty department.
Eligibility Criteria
Before joining AFCAT coaching & starting preparing for the AFCAT written exam, aspirants are advised to match their eligibility criteria for the AFCAT exam.
Age criteria For flying Branch: 20 to 24 years and candidates having a commercial pilot license issued by DGCA, are given relaxation in age up to 26 years.
For Technical Branch: 20 to 26 years
For ground duty Branch: 20 to 26 years
Educational Qualification
For Flying Branch: For Flying Branch, candidates must have passed 10+2 (Non-Medical) and a graduation degree in any field of a recognized university with a minimum of 60 % marks or have a degree of B.E or B. Tech from a recognized university for a minimum of 60% marks in all subjects.
For Technical Branch: Technical Branch has two posts that candidates can apply for. One is an Aeronautical engineer (electronics) and the second is an Aeronautical Engineer (mechanical). Those who are applying for the former are eligible only if they have a minimum four-year degree from a recognized university or they have cleared sections A & B of the Associate Membership Examination.
For Ground Duty Branch: Graduated degree of a minimum of three years or a postgraduate degree/equivalent diploma for administration and logistics. Candidates who desire to get employed in accounts must have a graduate degree in commerce or post post-graduate degree in commerce/CA/ICWA.

Stage 2
Officer Intelligence Rating: During the (OIR) test, the Quantitative Ability and Logical Reasoning Ability of the candidate are checked by the AFSB centre.
Picture Perception and Discussion Test: This test is divided into two sections.
Picture PerceptionTest: In this test, a picture is shown to the candidates and asked to recognize the main character and write a short story on it.
Discussion Test: After the Picture Perception Test, candidates have to discuss their story and conclude a group discussion on the story.
Stage 3
Psychological Test: Psychological tests are conducted by a psychologist in written exam.
Group Task: In this task, a tactical situation is given to the candidates and asked to find solutions by working together.
Interview: At the AFSB centre, the personal interview is conducted with the interviewing officer.
Computerized Pilot Selection Test (Only for Flying branch candidates): When the candidates pass the interview, the flying brand candidates are sent for CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection Test).
Stage 4
Medical Examination: After completing the stage 3 tasks, a medical exam is conducted for the passed candidates.
AFCAT Examination Pattern
The AFCAT exam pattern comprises of 100 questions and each question carries 3 marks. Besides, this exam has four sections as given below:

All questions are multiple-choice questions and there is negative marking in which 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
