Airforce Group X and Y notification- The IAF (Indian Air Force) will release the Airforce Group X and Y notification tentatively in December 2024. What is the X and Y Group in IAF (Indian Air Force)?

The X and Y are two different groups in the Indian Air Force. The X group is for those candidates who are from a science background. Those candidates can join technical trade in the Indian Air Force. Candidates who are not from a science background can join non-technical trade. Whether the candidate is from the X group or the Y group he or she cannot join the flying clan. In addition, they are responsible for ground duties involving IT, accounting, mechanical, electrical, electronic, Air Force traffic control, logistics, recruitment work medical, security, and associated duties.

CASB will release Airforce Group X and Y notification in December for intake 01/2025. The aspirants can apply after the CASB notification for both X & Y groups. Eligibility Criteria For IAF Group X 

Listed below are the eligibility conditions for the Airforce X Group Recruitment Notification. In addition, candidates must check these eligibility conditions to see if they are eligible for the exam or not. You can check the age limit, qualification required, and required medical standards. 

                          Eligibility criteria for Indian Air Force Group X 
Age Limit Candidates who are between 17 to 21 years old are eligible to apply.*Note: In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection Procedure, then the upper age limit as of the date of enrolment is 21 years
Qualification Required Completion of Air Force X Group training is essential. All applicants for the 2024 Air Force Recruiting Group X program must have the desired education. You must have passed High School (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics and English subjects with at least 50% in aggregate and 50% in English​​OR you must have passed a three-year Diploma Engineering Course in any occupation with at least 50% in aggregate and 50% in English. You should have completed 2 2-year vocational courses with non-vocational subjects ie. Physics and Mathematics with 50% marks and 50% marks in English.
Medical Standards (i) Height: 152.5 cm except IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades. However, the Minimum acceptable height for Auto Tech and IAF (P) trades is listed below:- For IAF(P) trade – 165 Cms (For hilly regions) 175 Cms For Auto Tech trade -162.5 Cms (For North East and Hill States) 165 CmsNote: Candidates from NE and Hill states include Garhwalis, Gorkhas, Kumaonis, Assamese and those belonging to the states of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim and hilly areas of Uttaranchal.(ii) Chest: Minimum 5 cm(iii) Weight: According to BMI (Body Mass Index). However, a minimum weight of 55 Kg is required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only. (iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable. (v) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing with each ear whisper from a distance of 6 meters. (vi) Dental: healthy gums, a good set of teeth and 14 dental points.(vii) General Health: The candidate has normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from acute or chronic, any active or latent, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidates shall be fit mentally and physically to perform duty in any location, in any condition.

Eligibility Criteria For IAF Group Y

Listed below are the eligibility conditions for the Airforce Y Group Recruitment Notification. In addition, candidates must check these eligibility conditions to see if they are eligible for the exam or not. You can check the age limit, qualification required, and required medical standards.

Qualification Required Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any subject approved by Central / State Board of Education recognized as a member of COBSE with a minimum of 50% in aggregate and 50% in English. Passed two years of vocational training from Boards of Education listed as members of COBSE with at least 50% marks and 50% marks in English for vocational training or at secondary/university level if English is not a subject in a professional course.
