INSTRUCTIONS FOR NDA 2 2024 SSB INTERVIEWS

At the selection centres in Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (PB), only shortlisted eligible candidates will take the SSB. Only on candidates’ registered email addresses and SMS numbers, does the relevant Selection Centre issue call-up letters for SSB interviews. The Directorate General of Recruiting, IHQ of MoD (Army), decides how the Selection Centre will be distributed, and no requests for adjustments will be considered in this regard.

Candidates for the NSB and AFSB must go through the appropriate NSB/AFSB procedure at the appropriate centres. The AFSB Centres are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Coimbatore, Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam are NSB centres.

There will be a two-stage selection process for candidates. Stage II is for those who pass Stage I. Those who don’t pass stage I will be sent home that day. The SSB interview lasts for five days, and information about it is available on the Directorate General of Recruiting’s official website at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. If a candidate is suggested after Stage II, a medical exam will be conducted after that.

Depending on the number of openings, candidates selected by the SSB and deemed medically fit will be issued joining letters for training in the order of merit, assuming fulfilment of all eligibility requirements.

VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS FOR SSB INTERVIEW

  • Eligible candidates will be asked to attend a verification round after a round of personal interviews. Qualified candidates must present the relevant original documents and three sets of photocopies to the SSC (Services Selection Centre).
  • The original documents listed below must be carried for Document Verification.
  • Admit Card Copy (10th, 12th, and other qualification certificates) Qualification Certificate & Mark Sheet.
  •  Carry if you have any NCC, sports certificates, etc.
  •  (Voter ID, PAN card, Aadhar card, etc.) as identification.
  •  Photos the size of a passport and a birth certificate.
  •  Category Certificate for Aspirants in the Reserved Category.
  •  Evidence of Residence.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION FOLLOWING THE SSB INTERVIEW

The final round of the selection procedure is a medical exam. The Board of Service Medical Officers will be contacted by the SSB to refer the applicants for a medical examination. Only those applicants who are deemed fit by the medical officers will be eligible for recruitment.

UPSC NDA SSB INTERVIEW SYLLABUS

Stage 1 (Screening test): Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests, and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT).

Stage 2- Psychology tests: Thematic Appreciation Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self Description Test (SD)

Thematic Appreciation Test (TAT) :

  • Candidates will be shown 12 pictures, and they have to write stories on each picture shown one after the other on a screen.
  • Candidates will get 30 seconds to view the picture and 4 minutes to write a story on each picture

Word Association Test (WAT):

  • This test will take about 15 minutes.
  • Candidates will be shown 60 words for 15 seconds each.
  • Candidates in those 15 seconds have to recognise and make a meaningful sentence using that word.

Self-Description Test (SD) :

  • It is the last psychological test.
  • 5 questions will be asked about your personal life and professional life.
  • Candidates have to be very honest and practical while answering these questions.

Group Discussion :

  • The candidates are given two topics to discuss one after another.
  • The time allotted for each topic is 20 minutes.
  • Candidates have to exchange their opinions and ideas on subjects and issues.

Group planning exercise (GPE) :

  • For Group Planning Exercise GPE, candidates are divided into groups of 6-12.
  • In this task, you will narrate a situation in which you are part of a group heading somewhere or returning from some location.
  • You and your group come to know about various problems that have either happened and will affect others or are going to happen in the future.
  • There will be approximately 3 to 5 problems of different magnitude. Some resources will be given, which will either be given directly to the problem, or you have to consider them using your common sense.

Progressive Group Test (PGT) :

  • Here, the candidate’s teamwork, practical knowledge, determination, cooperative skills, leadership, communication skills, convincing skills, innovative attitude, and mental and physical stamina are tested.
  • It will be a group task, and the time allotted is 40-45 minutes.

Half Group Test (HGT) :

  • This task is similar to PGT.
  • The PGT groups are divided into two subgroups.
  • Each sub-group has to complete the tasks of the PGT in 10 to 15 minutes.

Snack Race :

  • The candidates are divided into four groups of about 8 to 10 candidates.
  • The group is required to carry a snake (tent rolled in the form of a snake) through the 6 Obstacles.

Lecturette :

  • Candidates are seated in a circular arrangement and are given a number.
  • Each candidate is given a card having 4 topics, out of which one topic is to be chosen.
  •  3 minutes are given to prepare the topic.
  • After 3 minutes, the candidate is called by the GTO to submit the card and give a small lecture of 3 minutes on the subject in front of the group.
  • While the first candidate is giving the lecture, the second candidate picks up a card, chooses the topic & starts preparing.
  • When the first candidate finishes, the second one is called by the GTO and then told to deliver the lecture.

Interview :

  • In the Personal Interview, the Interviewing Officer (IO) assesses the personality of the candidates by asking various questions.
  • The interview duration could be from 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Conference :

  • The conference is the last stage of the SSB Interview process.
  • In the conference, all assessors discuss the performance of each candidate and decide whether to recommend them or not.
  • The final result of the NDA 2 2024 SSB INTERVIEW will be decided during the conference.
  • In case of any doubt about your performance, they will again assess you during the conference by asking some questions.
